About

Aikwood Tower is a 16th-century tower house in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, 4 miles southwest of the town of Selkirk, on the Ettrick Water. The tower is a Category A listed building.

Granted to Robert Scott by King James V in 1517. The tower was likely built soon after, possibly as early as 1535. Abandoned and used as farm storage before being restored in the 1990s by David Steel, former Liberal Party leader, who lived here with his wife for twenty years. Category A listed. Now a holiday home and wedding venue.
