About

Attingham Park is an English country house and estate in Shropshire. Located near the village of Atcham, on the B4380 Shrewsbury to Wellington road. It is owned by the National Trust and is a Grade I listed building.

Built in 1785 for Noel Hill, 1st Baron Berwick, designed by George Steuart. The picture gallery, added by John Nash in 1807, features a pioneering cast-iron and glass roof — one of the earliest of its kind. The 2nd Baron Berwick nearly bankrupted the estate through lavish spending and art collecting. The 3,800-acre Humphry Repton-landscaped park includes a deer park, walled garden, and woodland walks along the River Tern. National Trust since 1947.
