Clara Castle is a tower house (caiseal) located in County Kilkenny, Ireland.
Built around 1450 by the Shortall family, Clara Castle is a fine example of a fortified tower house with its five storeys, murder holes, and original vaulted ceilings still intact. It passed through several families over the centuries. Recently restored, it offers a rare glimpse into authentic medieval Irish domestic life with original features preserved.
