About

Duns Castle, Duns, Berwickshire is a historic house in Scotland, the oldest part of which, the massive Norman Keep or Pele Tower, supposedly dates from 1320. The castle and most of the structures on the property are designated as a Category A listed building.

The estate has medieval origins — a castle stood here from at least the 14th century. The current building dates from extensive remodelling in 1818-22 by architect James Gillespie Graham in Gothic Revival style. The grounds include Duns Castle Nature Reserve with ancient woodland, a man-made lake, and rich biodiversity. Now used as an events and wedding venue. The town of Duns was the birthplace of racing driver Jim Clark.
