Lanhydrock House
📍 Cornwall, England
About
Lanhydrock House, commonly known simply as Lanhydrock, is a country house and estate in the parish of Lanhydrock, Cornwall, England.
Originally a 17th-century house built by the Robartes family. Devastated by fire in 1881, it was rebuilt in high Victorian style with all modern conveniences of the era. The Long Gallery with its extraordinary plaster barrel-vaulted ceiling (depicting Old Testament scenes) survived the fire. The 50 rooms open to visitors include a remarkably intact Victorian kitchen, nursery, and servants' quarters. Set in 900 acres of parkland with gardens and woodland walks.
