The Proleek Dolmen near Dundalk, County Louth, is a spectacular portal tomb dating to around 3000 BC. The enormous capstone (estimated at 40 tonnes) appears to balance impossibly on tiny point supports. Legend says if you can throw a pebble that stays on the capstone, your wish will come true.
