Roodstown Castle near Ardee, County Louth, is one of the best-preserved tower houses in Ireland, retaining its original roof, battlements, and much of its interior fabric. The 15th-century castle was part of the defences of the Pale and offers a rare authentic glimpse into medieval domestic architecture.
