Castledermot Round Tower is a 10th-century round tower in Castledermot, County Kildare, Ireland. The tower, and the high crosses nearby, are a National Monument.
Founded as a monastery by St Diarmuid in the 9th century, Castledermot preserves a fine round tower, two remarkable Romanesque high crosses, and a Hogback tomb. The high crosses display scenes from the Bible including Daniel in the Lions' Den and the Crucifixion. The site was an important ecclesiastical centre and survived Viking raids.
