Coughton Court is an English Tudor country house, situated on the main road between Studley and Alcester in Warwickshire. It is a Grade I listed building.
Seat of the Throckmorton family since 1409, this Tudor house was a centre of Catholic resistance in Elizabethan England. Features priest holes where clergy hid during religious persecution. Connected to both the Throckmorton Plot of 1583 to murder Elizabeth I and the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. The striking Tudor gatehouse dominates the approach. Now managed by the National Trust.
